Registering for Little Miss...

So, I had been told how much fun it was to register for items for baby girl. I did enjoy it, but I have never felt so out of place before. I had NO idea what I needed not to mention what I wanted. Here are a few highlights...

We registered at Babies R' Us on a Friday night in February... just Daniel and I. We laughed until our stomaches hurt because he'd ask me do we need this? Before he could finish his sentence I was interrupting him with the same question.

Most of what we chose came from the following type of conversation.

FYI: Kim is Daniel's sister. Katie is married to his brother. Both are stay at home Mommies with more than one baby.

Me: What bottles do we need?
Daniel: I don't know.
Me: Kim used Dr. Brown.
Daniel: We need Dr. Brown bottles, I guess.
Me: Katie used them too.
Daniel: Here scan the triple pack then.

Just for record sake here are each of our top picks:

A stuffed version of Noah's Ark... I guess it is the preacher's wife in me, but I adore this toy. I thought, "It's a church legal toy cause it teaches about the Bible!" How fun for those weekend youth trips we'll be going on!! And you can store all the animals inside the ark, makes a organizing concerned Mom happy too :)
I feel in L.O.V.E with this mobile. It matches her bedding and is so girly.
What Daddy picked out for the princess: (Daniel's list)

Daniel is infatuated with this turtle that casts a 'starry sky' onto the ceiling through Mr. Turtle's back. I have to admit it is awfully cute :)
Daniel came around the corner while I was investigating bottles with this robe and said, "scan this, its cute." My heart melted :)
He picked out these bibs because it said it helps prevent rashes. Is there truth to that, I don't know, but he even picked out the pink color. I was a sucker for anything pink he picked out. :) And what a thoughtful, Daddy he is! He even said to scan it twice.

Wednesday Loving...

I love that I got three of our four Disney posts done- with pictures! See June/July 2010.

One of our elder's wives mailed me a $25 dinner and $25 movie gift card. It made our evening, and we cannot wait to use it. I think they are tired of me telling them thank you. More than anything, I was excited someone thought of me.
The locket my Mom brought me back from Gatlinburg! I've been looking for a necklace with a 'H' on it, and I couldn't find one I liked. I still want a light weight necklace, but I adore this locket. I caught myself opening it like 50 times yesterday even though there is nothing in it yet! I can't wait to put her precious face in it.

I look forward to the show 'The Bachelor' every Monday night at 7. It is the only show I watch live each week. Probably not the best selection of productive things to watch, but I love it.

29 Weeks...

My view sitting down

I'm 29 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 29 Weeks
Size of baby: Hallie is a little over 15 inches long—about the length of a loaf of bread—and weighs about 3 pounds, as much as a Macbook Air laptop. (I loved the comparison to a laptop.)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 18 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I wear almost everything maternity. I have about 7 outfits I rotate out of. I did fit into an Under Armor hoodie today that I got for Christmas. It was super comfy.
Gender: It's a girl!!! Hallie Kate
Movement: She is VERY active - especially in area of my rib cages.
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good- just need lots of it!
What I miss: Nothing major.. the whole how much weight have I gained thing is a bit different for me since I've never dealt with it before. My weight isn't an issue though, and I'd like to keep it that way until my pregnancy is over. I don't want to take advantage of it being okay to gain weight.
Cravings: Cheesecake of any sort
Symptoms: Today I had extreme cramps for about 3 hours. It scared me to death. We discovered I have a mild case of a stomach bug, and I was told to get plenty of rest. Also, I have to drink tons of fluids- even if I can't keep them down. (Doctors exact words.)
Best Moment this week: Her heartbeat was 158 at the doctor today! Scheduling her baby showers. (March 12th in Oneonta and March 27th at Roebuck) Also, the comical comments you get. I was told by an older lady that I am only at the beginning of my pregnancy. I wasn't sure how to respond. I simply smiled and thought, "29 better be MUCH closer to 40 than 0."

Coming Home Dress...

I've been without internet at school for several weeks. So, any time I get on the internet is spent doing productive things. So, time for baby news!!

Coming Home Dress

Feel free to vote! Not that I promise your opinion will make the final decision...

Daniel really wanted Hallie to wear something Auburn/Auburn-ish because I had mentioned in passing I might just let her wear Auburn pajamas home. I've since decided she needs something more adorable than pajamas. Honestly, I didn't think I'd care that much, but the closer it gets to bringing her home the more sentimental I become. Also, I want her to know how excited we were and how much preparation went into her coming home so she needs a special outfit- more special than pajamas we just picked out on a whim.

Here are our compromises. They will all be monogrammed (in the color of the bow). We are going to order a 3-6 month so it will be more like a gown when she is a newborn- in my opinion making it a little more fancy. She'll be able to wear it home from the hospital because it is adjustable due to the tie-able bow, during her first football season (when she is 3-6 months old), and her second football season as a shirt with a pair of jeans (when is 15-18 months old). I plan to hang it in her nursery on a hook so we can remember the special day we brought her home!

All dresses are property of and can be purchased via

Option 1: Orange polka dots with blue ribbon

Option 2: Blue polka dots with orange ribbon (shows a monogram)
Option 3: Blue zebra/tiger print with orange bow

Option 4: Orange paisley with blue bow

Valentine's Day

We decided to have a low key and calm Valentine's Day at home. It was a Monday (always a crazy day at our house) because Sundays are so hectic. Also, my birthday is 5 days before Valentine's Day so we had eaten out SO much the week/weekend before. So, we had steaks, potatoes, and Velveeta macaroni.

Daniel and Tipin grillin on the back porch

I wanted a cute picture of Tipin. Sorry for the torture pup, but it sure is cute!

Our romantic setting (I took the picture from this angle because I want to always remember how we had Hallie's stuff in the dining room while waiting to organize her room. I enjoyed seeing the reminders of our new addition as we enjoyed our last Valentine's Day as a couple)

No make-up and in my pjs.. perfect :)

25th Birthday

This is what I looked like on my 25th birthday. Excuse the hair... it was bedtime!

There was nothing I wanted for my birthday so Daniel got me roses. I also got Jim Brickman's cd Love. I couldn't have gotten a more perfect gift simply because Daniel picked it out just for me- all by himself. Thanks, Naniel... we love you :)

Mom got me a lady bug pillow pet and balloons! :) Thanks Mumsy!
