Christmas at Our House

I didn't have my camera at the family get-to-gethers; however, here are a few pictures from Christmas with my parents on th 26th. Daniel wasn't feeling well AT ALL about half way through presents, so we don't have many pics of us together! But here's what I managed to get while everyone was happy and well. Enjoy! Oh, the bobble head doll was Daniel's FAVORITE gift he said. So, that one's in honor of him. It a doll of Mr. Bean, and he loves those movies! It currently has a prominent place on our dresser in the master bedroom *sigh* That's alright though!! The picture of me is a sleeping mask. It blocks out the light so I can sleep while Daniel watches TV on those days I have to work the next morning! Needless to say, Daniel chose the mask and was a gift from him. Funny though.

Courington Christmas Crossword Puzzle

I made a crossword puzzle with clues about everyone in our family! Click here to see the puzzle! You can print it off the website or copy and paste it into Microsoft Word to print it.

I'll try to post the answers later this week, but you should be able to figure it out pretty easily!

Untraditional Traditions

Daniel and I haven't been married very long, but we have created a few Christmas Un-traditions of our own. (Perhaps they aren't traditional traditions, but some of my favorite things about this time of year!)

My Favorite Untraditional-traditions:

  • Christmas Morning Pajama Party - We stay in our pajamas Christmas morning and go to Billy and Mary's house. No one ven cares if you don't have make up on. I love getting to see the kid's new found treasures from Santa. The funnest part is the mad chaos when it comes time to pass out gifts. There are NO rules; you don't even have to take turns opening gifts!
  • December 26th Christmas - We ended up not having time to open gifts with my parents on Christmas. At first we were a bit saddened by the lack of time, but now it has become the highlight of the week. When you go to bed on Christmas Night, you know that you still have one more day of magic! It makes the Season last just one extra day and that is priceless!
  • Ole' Timey Cokes - At lunch on December 26th with my parents, ee drink coke out of the ole' timey coke bottles. You know, the old glass bottles!! I love buying the cokes a few weeks ahead of time and looking forward to Christmas Dinner everytime I see the bottles sitting there waiting to be drank!
  • Pearl Christmas Lights - Daniel and I have these beautiful white light on our tree. They aren't your typical clear Christmas lights; rather, they look more like a pearl. I love seeing the lights glow at night time during the Holiday Season!
  • Time off with Daniel - Daniel and I have been fortunate enough to spend the weeks before and after Christmas together since we've been married. We always buy a "toy" to play with during our vacation. It's usually a video game or board game. This year we are planning on getting Scene It! for Xbox 360!
  • Watching Corny Christmas Chick Flicks that come on ABC Family's 25 Day to Christmas Countdown - The best one this year has been "Holiday In Handcuffs" with Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez in it.

What are your favorite Untraditional Traditions?

Busy...

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday with a Sinus Infection. I got a shot and 2 prescriptions. Ugh!

Daniel started delivering on Tuesday and has had a rough first week! He worked until 9:00 on Wednesday night and had to miss church! He was suppose to teach the adult class...

We put our tree up on Monday, but we still don't have the ornaments on it. Hehe. That's my goal for the weekend!! And of course we have Christmas decorations STROWED everywhere!! And I don't even mind...

That's my life in a few short sentences.

I liked Naniel as a stay at home husband, but I like him just as well when he works! ;) But I do miss him these days!

Thanksgiving Break!!!

I was off the entire last week for Thanksgiving. I've got to spend some time with family!! I have truly enjoyed my time off. We went to the Alabama vs. LA-Monroe on November 17th. However, the highlight of the week (other than Thanksgiving Day) was definitely our trip to Georgia. My grandparents passed away 12 years ago in a house fire. My Mom and I always take an overnight trip back to her old home town every Thanksgiving Break to see my "adopted" grandparents, Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw Ensley. They were my grandparents' best friends, so when we lost my grandparents; they lost their closest friends. On our trip, we went up Fort Mountain there in Chatsworth and rode around Berry College in Rome, GA on our way home. The leaves were beautiful at both places!! Enjoy the pictures!!
The first two pictures are from the Alabama game (AL vs. LA Monroe). The picture just above is a man who had elephants embroidered ALL over his pants. He was about 90 years old (no lie) and was the funniest thing we saw all day.

This is a picture I took at the overlook on the way up the mountain!
The prettiest colors I saw all season! Not the the prettiest view in the bottom left and excuse the mailbox; however, beautiful scenery!
A picture I took at Berry College while Mom and I were walking around.

These are not the best I took, but they had the pretties variation of color. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. I have some pictures of our house, but I didn't want to post too many at once. It makes the load time take forever if you have dial-up service.

Chocolate Oatmeal Candy, Christmas Music, Old School Ninetendo,

As you read my title of this blog, you might wonder what in the world these things have in common... Let me explain.

As I travelled my 55 mile or 70 minute commute this morning, something caught my eye- a bright orange tree. How many times in life will you see an orange tree? Even during this time of year, it's very unique. Autumn is my favorite time of year this year. I love watching the leaves change and wave in the wind. I love waking up and opening the front door. It's like a special suprise just for me. What color will the trees be today? I am just now getting old enough to appreciate the changing leaves. I use to think it was weird to appreciate leaves changing colors. I just saw it as someting that happened, but this year it's so much different. Perhaps I'm growing up.

I have also been listening to Christmas music a lot today. One of my favorite Christmas songs is "These Are a Few of My Favorite Things".

Here are the opening lyrics of the song:
Raindrops on roses, And whiskers on kittens, Bright copper kettles, And warm woolen mittens, Brown paper packages, Tied up with strings, These are a few of my favorite things . . .

The combination of these two occurences made me think of other small things in life like the things listed in my subject of this blog. The items in my title are little things in life that I truly enjoy. A few of my other favorite things are getting mail especially for me, carving a pumpkin, tomato sandwiches, finger painting, baking cookies, seeing someone I truly love that isn't family, a clean car, an afternoon nap, a crackling fire, and bubble bathes.

What are "A Few of Your Favorite Things"? I hope you have a safe Holiday Season and enjoy the leaves changing!!!

Gospel Meeting and Ladies Day at Oneonta

We got to hear David speak twice this week! Once on Sunday and once on Monday! What a treat! He is doing a Gospel Meeting at my parent's congregation in Oneonta. Oneonta will also have a Ladies Day on Saturday! Please keep this event in your prayers as they continue to work toward a successful day on Saturday! No big news just wanted to tell everyone hey and miss you guys!

family...

Can you believe Thanksgiving is three weeks from today? It seems just like yesterday, we were watching Addi begin to like Santa, enjoying Levi figuring out why a tree was inside instead of outside, and clapping at Hannah for sitting up in her Bebe Pod, and that was last year during the Holiday Season. Wow, time flies! I thought you might enjoy a trip down memory lane to the 2006 Holiday Season!!

Cutest Costume Contest!?

Well, I hope you all had a great Halloween. I just wanted to see what the cutest costume you saw this year was? What is your all time favorite costume? I'm partial to the "Black Eyed P". I saw one last year that was adorable. His eye was blacked out and he had the letter P on his shirt! Too cute! The quads (we all read their blog) were four peas in a pod. I thought it was a neat idea also!! We didn't do anything to celebrate the evening, but I did get to teach the kids class at church! :)

Spooktacular Halloween

Hey!! I hope everyone has had an enjoyable week and has a great Halloween!! Well, not much has happened around the Courington household in Glencoe these few weeks. Daniel's still job hunting, and I'm still teaching. Last night we got to see David, Susan, Kim and Paul. It was nice to see everyone especially since we don't get too as much as I'd like. Kim seemed to be feeling like her normal self, and I was extremely glad to see that! They also said Maw-Maw was much better than she was at one time; so, that's great news as well!!

Friday is my long awaited trip to Christmas Village! Over 46,000 people and $6.5 million dollars were involved in the event last year in just 5 days! Here is a list of the BJCC's other events coming up soon! (I took off Friday, so tomorrow is kind of like "my Friday" since its my last day to get up early this week!! Yay!!)

Hope you enjoy your weekend whether you spend it watching football, shopping at Christmas Village, or even both!

Have a boo-tiful day!! Here's a fun Halloween coloring site for kids!! Also, here some other fun games! I had some cute Halloween clipart, but it's not letting me add it right now. I'll try again later!!

Lila!

My new niece Lila Victoria has arrived. I'm so proud for Paul, Kim, Addi and Levi. I think Kim was proud of Lila, but Addi was possibly even prouder! When Addi woke up from her nap, they told her that they needed Addi to hold Lila. Addi was so tired she told us that they both needed to keep napping. Addi was exhausted from being a good big sister. Another precious little one in the world. I look foward to watching her blossom into a brilliant little girl!

Lila Victoria Kelsey

Lila Victoria Kelsey joined the world today about 7:30. She has a head full of red hair, weighed 7 lbs 5 oz, and is almost 20 inches long!! Yay!! I can't wait to see her! (I'm at work today.. pooie!) Daniel, Katie, Gramps, Granna, Hannah, Addi, Levi and of course Paul and Kim are at the hospital!! I'm heading that way as soon as school ends at 3:00!

Baby Lila

Tomorrow I will be an aunt again. I'm excited and cannot wait to meet Lila. We don't have any of our own kids right now, but I sure do enjoy spoiling my neices and nephews rotten just like I will my kids someday. I also know my kids will be spoiled rotten by Kim and Katie and everyone else. I've enjoyed watching Addi grow so much in the past few years into the young lady she is today with her bubbling personality. Levi has become Mr. Conversationalist in his ripe old age of 2 1/2 years. Then, there's Hannah. All that girl has to do is smile, and the room lights up! She's quite the giggler too! Lila will be one among four but I cannot wait to see her personality grow as she grows in the coming months and years! So, Lila... welcome to the family!

Weekend

I'm here again in Basic Skills, and while my kids do their assignment, I'm updating my classroom and personal blog. This weekend was a blast. Friday night we cleaned up the house. Saturday morning Daniel got up and went door knocking for the Hispanic work in the area. After door knocking we went yard salin'. We had a blast. We spent less than 20 dollars - CAN'T BEAT THAT. We also got lost looking for a restaurant in the middle of no where Ball Play, AL called Beans 'n Greens. We found it after ending up in Piedmont/Centre. Go figure. We also went to the Spanish worship services at 3:00 PM Saturday. (They had the services at Glencoe.) I didn't understand a word they said except I caught "loco" once. I cracked up; I couldn't help but laugh. We worked on the nursery some Saturday and got some stuff for it at the yard sales. Yesterday, I went house looking with Mom just for the fun of it. (It's my favorite past time.) Overall, we had a great weekend! Oh, we also ate lunch with our preacher and his wife on Sunday. That's was a sweet treat! Much love to all!!

Interview and Dinner

I'm sitting here with my Basic Skills reviewing for the graduation exam. Life is pretty good. Daniel has another interview today. As a matter of fact, it just started! It's with Amedisys. I hope we find out something soon. I'm starting fret over finances. I know we'll be fine without him working; I just don't like change or adjustments. We're planning on setting up our nursery this weekend so we can get Levi one weekend soon. I'm excited. I went to eat with Sharon last night (the preacher's wife). She's soo sweet. I didn't realize how much I miss female interaction until last night. I guess it's something you can definitely live without but is a definite luxury. It's always nice to spend time with christian brethern. Well... that's our life in review. I'll update soon. Should be updating more often because I've started my classroom blog which I'll update daily. Love to all. Miss you lots!!

Life in Glencoe...

  • Well, life has been pretty simplistic around here.
  • We've been able to spend a good bit of time with the Courington side of the family lately. I always enjoy seeing them.
  • School is good. The drive is getting old though.
  • Daniel got to go to the Auburn opening game with Alex. They both had a blast.
  • We've starting spending time with our preacher and his family. They have a 5 year old little boy and a 4 month old little girl.
  • Daniel thinks he's landed a job with New Beacon Hospice here in town. We hope it all works out. They gave him a drug test and a background check before they even interviewed him, and from what we heard from a previous employee of the company, they only do tha if they know they are going to hire you.
  • Hm... we've been working on our house. I need to post pictures. Some of you have never seen it. We're in the process of setting up a guest bedroom and a nursery (no, not for us) but for nieces and nephews when they come visit. We have entirely too big of a house. I guess that's a good problem though! :)
  • We officially have no friends. It's hard to find good Christian friends to do things with. Thus, the spending time with the preacher's family. They are still a good bit older than us, but it works out well!

A Lil' Under the Weather....

Today was enjoyable. It wasn't anything great and that's what was so enjoyable about it. It was a nice no drama kinda' day. My mom ate lunch with me and was around most of the day. That always makes the day more enjoyable. We are studying absolute value in the eighth grade class. I'm ready to teach them something they haven't seen yet- I think. Hehe.

Our good friends from church, Joe and Georgia, are having some health problems. Joe is having contant nose bleeds. Please keep them in your prayers.

Daniel preached yesterday, and I spent the day in Boaz with my family at Blessing church of Christ. They had a "homecoming luncheon" following services. I had fun seeing old friends and meeting people my dad knew back in the day.

I also got to hear Stafford North speak twice. He did an awesome job.

Much love to all.

UPDATE about Study Hall: I just didn't say anything about them talking today and acted as if it was no big deal if they talked quietly rather than having a no talking policy. They were SO much better. I think they were just rowdy because I was on their case about being so loud. Problem solved! Who'd of thunk it? :)

Eventful Day

Well, it has been a while since I updated. However, I now have internet at school; maybe I'll be able to update more often now!!

Straight line winds went trough Cleveland today (where my dad is principal) today and caused damage and tree fallage in the area. He has water in the school and help the students until 4; he was even on Channel 13 news!! I was excited. Luckily, no one was hurt and there was no major damage to the school.

He is also in the process of moving a teacher from fourth grade to third grade and that causes a lot of stress. The move takes place on Monday, so the day was already crazy for him before that. I'm just glad nothing terrible happened with the wind damage.

My classes are going better except for the study hall. I don't give grades in this class, so I can only do so much punishing. I hate all the chitter chatter during that period. They are SO loud. IF you have ANY ideas for me, please.... HELP!!

I gave my first test this week, and the kids did really well!! I was proud. It means I did somethin right! Whoop!

Hannah's birthday was yesterday, and I miss her cute smile so much!! I hope she had a greattttt day.

Tomorrow we are going to Hoover's youth day with Polishing the Pulpit. I'm excited!!

Have a great weekend. Maybe it wont take so long to update next time!!

Sunday, August 12, 2007

So, now I understand the true work it takes to teach a young mind. This week has been nothing but pure chaos. My typical day begins about 5:30 AM. I wake up before Lowe's opens!!!! That's just wrong. Nonetheless, I get a shower and leave the house by about 6:20. It takes about an hour to get to LF. Homeroom starts about 7:30, and I have a first period prep. We are still on the old 7 periods a day schedule. 2nd period I have 8th grade math with about 30 kids. Third and fourth periods are 10th and 11th grade classes. One is grad exam review, and the other is an algebra class. Fourth and fifth periods are 8th grade math classes. Finally, I have an old fashioned study hall. It's tiring but the day goes by SOOO fast! I like my job, but have to start implementing more procedures tomorrow. I think it will be better for everybody. The people I work with are amazing, and the kids are hilarious.

Sorry, I haven't updated, but I have been absolutely exhausted by 7 at night these days. I sleep more than I did this summer it seems! Haha. I don't have internet in my classroom at school, so when I get it, I will be able to update quickly at school sometimes. I went to Chattanooga to a Ladie's Day at Rossville church of Christ yesterday and to Blessing church of Christ for a youth devo tonight. Four kids went with us tonight and had a blast!

Back to Reality and Back to Work

Vacation was wonderful. I have pictures, but........ I can't get them off my camera. It saved the pictures on the hard drive of my camera instead of on the memory card. I can't get the computer to recognize the computer software. So, I can't use our home computer. I'll post them as soon as I get a chance at my parents' house. I'm terribly sorry. We did so much on our trip! We ate at Santa Fe Grill on Monday on our way up. We enjoyed several home cooked meals on vacation also though!! We got to see Weird Al Yankovich (spelling?) and attended the Sweet Fanny Adams Theater. Daniel had a good birthday and got an Auburn golf bag! He was quite happy, or so he said!

School started Monday, and today was Professional Development Day. Tomorrow is a work day. Work Days are fun. Remember free time in school when you were younger? That's kinda how Work Day is. You do have to work, but you work on whatever you need to thus being the most productive day of the week.

I will also post pictures of my room in the near future!! It looks awesome!

Much love to all, Mandi and Daniel

I miss you all terribly!!

Missing In Action

We're leaving for Gatlinburg tomorrow so please excuse my absence until next Sunday if I don't have any internet! I have no idea if we'll have internet or not. When we get back, I'll have pics!!! Love to all!

Back to School Rally

Today's VBS-style Youth Day went well! But tomorrow is the biggie! Daniel spent the majority of this week and today working on the building for tomorrow. He's work so hard, and I'm so proud of him! I hope we have a LARGE crowd and no major complications. Please say a prayer for our event at church tomorrow and that everyone traveling has a safe trip!

I also got new glasses today!! It's exciting [to me] because I don't get them but every 2 or 3 years. (Dork alert- referring to myself of course.)

Chris and Joseph are staying with us tonight!! They got in about 6 tonight, and we met them at our favorite restaurant, The Loop. Of course, we had to go play putt putt after we ate. I came in third place. Not bad for a skinny kid, and I even had to go first on every hole. (I don't think it was very fair to make me go first! *hehe*) I did beat Joseph though!

That's our day in a nutshell. I'm not sure how much I'll be updating next week because we're leaving for Gatlinburg on Sunday, but don't give up on me. I'll be back in the rotation the following week.

Love all of you! ~Mandi

Lil' bit of nuttin'

Hello world! My days and nights are officially mixed up. That's okay though, that's why I went into education! :) I officially love summer vacation!

Today was nothing too exciting, but I did have one minor scare. I was at a stop sign waiting to turn and out of nowhere I felt a bump. I wasn't sure at first what it was. Then, I realized I'd been rear ended. Luckily, it just knocked the dirt off the back of my car and didn't scratch or dent anything. After that, I just worked on my room for a bit and went to church.

Daniel spent the day preparing for our Back to School Rally coming up this weekend. I think it's going to be fun. I'm in charge of registration and also the extra set of hands for any unexpected event.

Exciting life, huh? I wouldn't have it any other way! I love every detail about it.

We leave for Gatlinburg either Sunday or Monday!! Woo hoo. (We have reservations Monday-Friday, but we've discussed going up on Sunday!)

Classroom Chaos

I've been trying to update daily here lately, but I slacked yesterday. I know school will be starting soon, and I hope to continue with my daily updates. However, we'll see in a few weeks. Speaking of school, we worked in my classroom for a while today. But let me start at the beginning...

This morning when I woke up, I called the assistant principal at Locust Fork and asked if I could work in my room for a while. It was no problem so we headed that way. I already knew that my room was the old "junk room" meaning that there was TONS of junk in there. Being optimistic, I thought they might have moved some of the items out of the room over the summer. WRONG! My principals didn't realize how much stuff really was in that room. At first I was pretty much left to move it ALONE with the janitors.

The janitors weren't too thrilled with my arrival because the principal asked them to come help me. Unfortunately, it was almost three o'clock, and they were going home at three regardless of my situation. The janitors actually told me to go home and come back the following day!! Needless to say, my principal did not like this idea!

Enter principals help moving stuff!

The principals and I moved over 50 humongous monitors and 10 computers into the hallway. But after that, I was then left with a room full of broken desks and various unwanted items to move alone again.

Enter Daniel and Daddy. Yay!

So, Daddy, Daniel and I started moving desks and climbing over mountains of STUFF. Only difficulty, where do we put the extra 20 desks, extra filing cabinet and three broken chairs? So we go on a mad hunt to figure out where to put this extra stuff!! It all ended up In the hallway! *hehe* Of course I asked permission before I did this though.

Enter Mom.

Finally, the four of us began the cleaning process and organization process of just a normal classroom! This is a task in and of itself when it's your first year at a school!!

We worked for a good 4 hours total, and then went to eat at Konomi in Trussville! Let's just say, we bought Mom and Dad's supper for all their help and we still owe them! Thanks everyone for all your help! My room now looks as good as it can considering. I am getting a new paint job, new desk, new computer, and my floor waxed soon! *yay!!!!* I hope it gets better each year, but at least I won't have to clean out the junk every year. I think I'd rather move every year!!

Can you Sudoku?

I have been hit by the latest game craze... SUDOKU! It's been around for awhile now, but I wanted something innovative to put on my blog! Hope you have fun! Try to get the numbers 1-9 each in row, column, and 3-by-3 bolded square! (Tina, maybe I'll keep you entertained for a little while!)

Everything is better on Friday..

I'm sitting in Web Page Design training, and we're exploring the world of blogs. I thought this would be a prime time to update! Not much has happened yet, but today is Friday! I love Fridays. Everything is better on Friday. People are more polite, and everything goes smoother. For me, Fridays don't make much of a difference during the summer, but during the school year, I am so excited on Friday nights. I know that Daniel and I have an entire weekend to spend time together and recoop from a hard week's work! So, I hope everyone has a great Friday! Make it your own mini-holiday! Today, I'm just happy to be alive.

Life with Alex.. always something to laugh about..

Alex has been with us this week, and I have throughly enjoyed having someone else around. I love Daniel, but when it's just us, we aren't very exciting. We do about what Bayley does, sleep, eat, poop, and repeat. We've just had fun talking, laughing, eating Daniel's concoctions, and [the boys] playing football. Alex is going home Saturday, and Mary's party is also Saturday!! I need some gift ideas. Help me out people. You can email me at mandicourington@hotmail.com or just leave a comment. I can't keep a present a secret anyway!

Tomorrow I have training for Professional Development. I'm suppose to learn how to build a webpage. Maybe I can figure out how to "Pimp My Blog."

How much is one million?

A University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) graduate is currently counting to one million. It is expected to take him at least three months to complete the task! I saw him on a national news station tonight. He is currently on about 360,000. You can even watch him live on http://www.millioncount.com He is raising money for PUSH America. I like numbers but not this much!!

Faculty Retreat

I checked the mail tonight after our Movie Night at church with the youth, and I had a letter in it from a teacher at Locust Fork. The letter was to inform me of a faculty retreat next Wednesday-Friday. I was so excited. I am looking forward to my job, and this is a great opportunity to get to know everyone. LF is piloting a program called Project Community. The basis of the program is to provide locally relevant, hands-on learning opportunities for our students. While we're there we will get to go fly fishing and tour an 1820s farmhouse, and everything is paid for!! (The picture at the top is the house we'll get to tour!) We will attend conferences during the day and get CEU's for the workshops we attend. I will be sure to take pictures and post them when I get back!! Meanwhile, the website for where we'll be having our meetings and doing activities is: http://www.alabamawildlife.org/lanark.asp

100 Things About Me...

100. My life has made one large circle. I live in the house I grew up in and work in the system I attended school in. It's amazing how history repeats itself.

99. I am finally getting older, and it freaks me out. When I was a kid, Pluto was a planet! Times have changed! Getting older really does seem weird to me though!

98. I have friends and always have, but I don't think I've ever had a best friend. Girls typically got on my nerves growing up. Everything was a big deal to them.

97. I am spoiled rotten. My mom was the original source, but Daniel has carried the tradition on. I like to think I spoil him too though.

96. I would rather eat Daniel's food than any restaurant!

95. I HATE confrontation.

94. I always said I'd NEVER be a teacher. I am currently employed as a 10th grade math teacher.

93. My future children have a 50% chance of either having the eye disease in my family or being a carrier of it. (Only boys can actually have the disease. Girls can be carriers meaning they can pass it on to their children someday.) I don't mind though because it has only made my Dad a stronger person; therefore, I know my children will be ok also.

92. I always wanted to be a doctor. That is my true dream in life. An oncologist to be specific.

91. I have three heroes in life. 1) Daniel 2) Daddy 3) Mr. Joe - a guy we go to church with; he's in his seventies

90. I regret not remaining close to my high school friends.

89. I am still not old enough to substitute teach in Blount County.

88. I am scared to death of fire. My grandparents died as a result of a house fire.

87. I got my first job because I was walking across Freed one day and wondered into the tutoring office and just decided to sign up to tutor. I took my first paycheck, bought some fabric and made a blanket to ensure I'd always have something that was from my first paycheck. I'm covering up with that blanket right now!

Anniversary, Job, and Beach!!

I am writing this blog from the BEACH!! I am lucky enough to be able to spend the week with my parents in Orange Beach, Alabama. It was been wonderful other than I got sunburned on my first day. We haven't really done much but that's the whole point of vacation. We are going to Mobile on Saturday to attend the Mega Conference.

This past Monday was a BIG day for me. It was our second anniversary! Wow, 2 years has flown by!! What can I say? Daniel is so important in my life. He is my everything other than Jesus of course! I could not ask for more and cannot put into words how much I love and appreciate him and everything he does for me. I love you sweetie. Also, I was offically hired Monday as Locust Fork High School's 10th grade Geometry teacher. I am sooo excited. If you want to learn more about the school, the website is: http://locustforkhs.blount.k12.al.us/

Well, the beach awaits me so I'll update again soon!

Prayer Request

Ethan Powell went in for his two month check up on February 6, 2007 and was diagnosed with cancer. He ended up being airlifted to Memphis, Tennessee immediately and was given a 15% chance of survival. However, he has successfully overcame multiple hurdles so far, and Monday, he will be going in for a bone marrow transplant. This is one of the biggest days yet for this family and could possibly be the turning point in their terrible journey over the past few months. Ethan and his parents worship at University church of Christ in Shreveport, LA. You may visit his website at www.ethanpowell.com (The site is updated at least once a day.) Please be sure to keep the Powell Family in your prayers and add them to your prayer list at church.
