Job!!

I was offered a position teaching Mathematics at Locust Fork, and I accepted it. As long as everything goes smooth at the board meeting, I will employed for the second consecutive year by Blount Co. Board of Education. It won't be too terribly long until I will be eligible for tenure. Wow! I will post more details as soon as I am officially hired.

Prayer Request

Ethan Powell went in for his two month check up on February 6, 2007 and was diagnosed with cancer. He ended up being airlifted to Memphis, Tennessee immediately and was given a 15% chance of survival. However, he has successfully overcame multiple hurdles so far, and Monday, he will be going in for a bone marrow transplant. This is one of the biggest days yet for this family and could possibly be the turning point in their terrible journey over the past few months. Ethan and his parents worship at University church of Christ in Shreveport, LA. You may visit his website at www.ethanpowell.com (The site is updated at least once a day.) Please be sure to keep the Powell Family in your prayers and add them to your prayer list at church.

Sweet Home Alabama

We are currently in West Virginia, the northern part of WV, approximately 10 hours from home. We made the trek last night. We left home about 9:45 CST and arrived in WV about 8:45 EST. The hotel we're staying at so generously allowed us to check in at 9 this morning so we got to crash as soon as we got here!! It was sooo nice of them! So far on our trip, we've napped, visited with Sarah and Philip, saw part of West Virginia University (about 20 miles northeast of where we're staying), ate at Outback Steakhouse, and OF COURSE visited Wal-Mart! Daniel is currently sleeping since he drove all night last night and let me doze some! He's such a sweetie! I took some pictures; however, I cannot upload them because my fire wire cord is broken. I forgot the card reader that we use to upload pictures. So, Sunday I will try to get wedding pics and other pics up for everyone to see!! There isn't a lot in West Virginia but a whole lot of nuttin'. There are tons of trees and mountains and fog. It's a great place to visit but makes me appreciate Alabama more than words can say!

Note: That's an actual picture of the town we're staying in and the part of West Virginia Univ. we saw!!
