Any describe you?

I thought this was somewhat comical. I was looking at a "group" on Facebook that is a church of Christ bulletin board page. Some people had shared some common characteristics of members of the church. How many apply to you?

1. You've never really had a class on Revelation maybe because none of the elders could agree on how it should be taught or who should teach it

2. You know of at least 2 old ladies at your church that secretly fight over the "control of the church kitchen" during Fellowship and if you even know what "Fellowship" is

3.You've heard someone judge how good the preacher's sermon was based on how long the sermon was

4.You were at least five years old before you knew that everyone's first name was not "Brother".

5. You ever thought the book after Acts was Lettertotheromans

6. If anyone has ever said to you "you people think you are the only ones getting to heaven"

7. When visiting somewhere new, you look around to see if during communion you put the cup back in the tray or in the holders on the pew

8. If you have referred to FHU as Find a Husband University

9. The word liberal has very little political meaning but rather describes the other CoC down the road

10. You first met someone and later realized that you went to camp with each other when you were like in the third grade

11. Your youth group goes/went everywhere in a 15 passenger van or you get excited when you see a church of Christ van on the road

12. You know someone named Jedidiah

13. You know what the "Freed bubble" or "Faulkner bubble" is...

14. You have practiced the time-keeping hand motions while singing to yourself in the car

15. The highlight of your summer is the midnight singing at camp

16. You have a preference towards one kind of communion cracker over another

17. You have heard an older person refer to the gym or any other room in the building as the Multi-Purpose Room

18. You feel guilty for ordering a virgin strawberry daiquiri

19. It's normal to swim in a swimsuit, a dark t-shirt, and shorts

20. If you use "Freed" as a noun, not a verb...

21. Every church you've attended was named after the city or the road it was on

22.You know the 1st, 2nd and 4th verses to nearly every song in the book

23.You were 10 years old before you knew that "guardguideanddirectus" was not one word

24.You married before you get out of Freed or Faulkner

25. Dissfellowship is one of your worst fears

A child's innocence

Please excuse my absence from the blogging world. Last Sunday, we received news as morning church services were ending that my great-grandmother had passed away so I've been rather busy the past week. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers on the behalf of our family the past week. I was just looking through cute pictures and stories on the internet and found this adorable story. I thought everyone would enjoy it...

"We were at my in-laws one weekend and our 4 yr old who is now eight was in their bathroom looking at herself in the mirror, one of her favorite things to do. My father in law went in the bathroom and asked her what she was doing, she replied just looking. She then said " Papa can I ask you a question?" "yes" he said she says " did God make you and me both?" "Yes God made both of us" he replied. She then looked in the mirror and then back at her papa and in the mirror again, she did this a couple of times before finally saying "Boy he sure is doing a better job now."
