Here are a couple of neat ideas I've been wanting to try lately...
Brew some fresh ice tea, allow to cool to room temperature, pour into ice cube tray, and place in freezer. This way your iced tea won't water down! I love this idea. I think I am going to make Daniel some in Lemonade because he like his tea half lemonade-half tea.
To make fruit flavored syrup, mix 1 cup of syrup with 2 cupes of diced fruit. The recipe says to use it within 3-4 days though.
Just a few cute, simple ways to make life that much sweeter!

Cookin' up Trouble...
As most of you know Daniel is the 'primary' cook around our house. O.kay. Let me rephrase that more appropriately Daniel is the 'sole' cook around our house. So, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to use my love of crafts and creativeness to help him out in that regard. So, that means getting creative in the kitchen. Now, I still strongly despise, rather hate, raw meat. We are working on that minor gliche in the system.
Monday while out gallavanting I spotted a KitchenAide mixer for $65!! I was estatic, but I hdad to get the master chef to inspect it. He looked at it and seemed kind of unsure. I could tell he was excited but didn't want to spend the money. So, I bought it for us for my birthday! So, we now own a KitchenAide mixer. Granted, its an antique. To be honest, I'd rather have an antique mixer than a new one. It's got probably got history. Ha. To look at it, you can't even tell it's not brand new. They haven't changed anything on these things in forever!! Nonetheless, if I'm gonna pay for it with my birthday monday, I decided it must earn it's keep. It didn't come with a whisk; I spent the better part of Monday night trying to locate a whisk in Trussville. No such luck. Most of these machines come with one when purchased. So, no one sells them. It must be ordered off the internet. We have a 'plan' to use one until we order ours.
Now off my rabbit trail and back on the original topic, I have been dying to make REAL cookies! However, with no whisk attachment, we had to cheat and make Betty Crocker easy bakers kind. NONETHELESS, last night we made cookies! Daniel doesn't quiet trust me in the kitchen by myself or I get frustrated before it's over and quit, so 'we' together made cookies!
Tonight, I wanted to make something interesting. Now, we eat at church on Wednesday nights so I could cook all I wanted but no one was going to eat it. So, we prepared for tomorrow's dinner by making Pinneapple Salsa and marinating the chicken. For the salsa, we threw out the onion and jalepeno, but added fresh orange juice (about 1/4 of the actual orange). We also swapped the lime juice for lemon juice. For the marinade, we did include a chopped jalepeno for flavor. I will update tomorrow for the final outcome!
Have you ever tried Pinneapple Salsa!? What'd you think of it? I'd like to try Peach Salsa. Got a good recipe!?

Flurry of a Weekend...
Friday night we found out we were expecting another niece or nephew!! Congrats Josh and Katie.
Here are some pictures from Saturday night (Valentine's Night!).
Saturday morning I had the Ladies Prayer Tea, and Saturday night we had the Sweetheart Banquet at church.
Sunday was worship and bible school, be back to cook for devo at 3, worship at 5, area wide devo/games at 6, and girls lock in at 8. I got home about 1 A.M.
Monday (today) we are headed to watch Jefferson Christian Academy play in the Regional championships at noon. Good luck girls! I am enjoying a much needed 'day off'.
I had hopes of getting creative and crafty this weekend, but time didn't allow. Hopefully, I can get into some of that soon.

Uplifting and Lazy Valentine's Morning
So far I've been to a Ladies Tea and had some time on the couch. What a wonderful day! Time in prayer with God and time with my husband!
Here are pictures so far...
What a wonderful sight... our young ladies in prayer with God! What a great example to us other ladies.
Dan playing his mandolin and Tippin keepin' time with her tail! Two peas in a pod... (my view from the couch!)
Here is an old chip bag holder from a grocery store (I paid almost nothing for it at a yard sale last summer!) It was already painted red [the rust is an added bonus!] I found little note cards ($1/dozen) and wrote different reasons I love Daniel! It's a [cheap] and sweet way to decorate for Valentines! Don't tell but I bought the balloon for myself! Gotta love a little cheerful color anyday but especially on a holiday!
More pictures to come on tonight's plans...

Debate Tonight at USC
Brother Kyle Butt is due to debate an atheist at 7 p.m. tonight. Please remember him in your prayers! Pray that the audience will be respectful of him and his stand while he puts a good name out for the church. You can learn about debate and Kyle Butt here.
We have been blessed to meet some of Brother Butt's family (The Glass Family) while at Roebuck. They are an upstanding Christian family willing to serving the Lord in every way possible.
